I Guess I Should Blog Before You Send a Search Party

I am very sorry that I haven't been blogging, but I just haven't had any motivation to. Sorry the newness has worn off.

Anyway, I thought I should just announce a few things that have happened in my life.

June 4th, 2009: I graduated from Bella Vista High School, with a 4.0 (unweighted) GPA, making me a school Valedictorian

June 15th-20th, 2009: I went to Girls' Camp with the Carmichael Stake as a Junior Staff, assisting in just about any area, including Crafts, Certification, and Campfire Programs. It was kind of a hard week to realize that I wasn't a YW any more but now I have to be an adult leader. I did have a TON of fun though, especially once I got used to being staff. It was really cool because Amber Rivers and I got to share a tent because she was an "unassigned YCL," so basically she didn't have a unit of girls to lead and help. Instead she served in Crafts and helped me out whenever. We kept joking that this was kind of like a "dry run" for next year when she will (hopefully) BYU to see if we could get along and be able to room together. --I am still undecided about whether it would work :-)--

June 22nd-28th, 2009: I house-sat for a family in my ward. Basically I just had to take care of their dog and garden, but it was still something that kept me busy.

June 28th, 2009: I substituted for the YSA ward organist (I played on the piano) in their sacrament meeting. It was fun, but also a little weird because I'm not allowed to actually join the YSA ward yet, and also because I am still only 17, and most of who was there were 20+ years old. Oh well, it was a good experience and I am glad I was able to share my talents.

Events coming up:

July 8th and 20th, 2009: I will have my first overnight babysitting experience. My Sunday School teachers are both firefighter-paramedics and sometimes their schedules don't match up. Normally they have family watch their 2 kids, but this time their family is going to be on vacation. Instead they have asked Amber Rivers and I to watch their kids for the 24hrs that their schedules overlap. I don't know how everything is going to go, but it should be fun. Amber and I have team babysat before, and it was just a blast.

July 10th, 2009: Heidi will be celebrating her FIRST Birthday with a pool party. I can't believe she is so old, holy cow it has already been a year!?

July 11th-18th, 2009: Dad is taking me and 3 of my friends out to EFY, Rexburg. This will be my first EFY experience and I am getting really excited.

July 13th, 2009: I am eligible to register for my classes at BYU. So far, my schedule is pretty much full because I got into a Freshman Academy program, which lets me pre-register for a certain "envelope" of classes I will have with members of my learning community.

Well, I think that is basically this past and current month in a nutshell. I hope that I will remember to get on and blog in more detail about some of the excitement, but don't hold your breath. :-)

Whew! I thought you'd never come back!! Good to hear things are going well. We miss you tons! Do you need help getting registered for classes since it is on the same day you go to EFY? Although, you should be able to start registering at midnight... so you might be okay.

Are you gonna convince DAad to get you a laptop so you can blog about your experiences @ the Y? :-)

Nancy-- I'm not sure about the deal with class registration right now, because dad will have his work computer. I may be calling you about class suggestions though. :-)

Dave-- Yes I am getting a laptop. But I may blog even less than I already am once I get to the Y. So don't expect too much from me. :-)

You are so busy! But I love that you're so involved in great things. And uh, HELLO you forgot about how excited you were looking forward to the YW Tahoe Retreat! But I'll forgive you. As long as you post some of those pictures of you and Amber in the suit of armor and with the egg beaters late Friday night. Yah...
