Here is the promised truffle recipe. It is so simple and they are delicious!

Well, these pictures are not from my truffle creations, but they sure do make them look so good! Here are the simple instructions for the Nutter Butter Truffles (Top):

1. Crumble one package of nutter butter cookies (cream center and all), reserving 5 for sprinkling on top.
2. Mix in one 8 oz. package of cream cheese
3. Melt Chocolate Almond bark or chocolate candy melts according to package directions.
4. Roll the dough into 1" balls and dip in chocolate.
5. Place dipped balls onto a wax paper coated cookie sheet and allow chocolate to set.
6. Enjoy!

See how simple, and oh so delicious!

Now here are the oreo instructions:

1. Crumble one package of oreo cookies (cream center and all), reserving 7 for sprinkling on top.
2. Mix in one 8 oz. package of cream cheese
3. Melt vanilla (white chocolate) Almond bark or white chocolate candy melts according to package directions.
4. Roll the dough into 1" balls and dip in the white chocolate.
5. Place dipped balls onto a wax paper coated cookie sheet and allow chocolate to set.

I think that I like the oreo truffles better, but you can try both and see what you think. They are definitely fun and yummy. We made ours for a family home evening activity. I hope you try them, and like them. :-D

More College Stuff

So, everyone knows that I have applied to Sac State, BYU-I and BYU-U and been accepted. Well, today, I was very pleased to hear from UC Davis. I was accepted! Yay!

I was also very excited to be able to decline their acceptance. :-p

I'm going to BYU-U!!! I get to choose my room for housing at BYU on April 29th. That seems like forever away, but I know it will come quickly. I'm getting exciting and nervous, but I know it will be a great experience.

Pay it Forward!

My friend Stephanie had this on her blog, and I am joining in the fun as well! Read below:

Here is how it works - the 1st 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive at some point during this year a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment here write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going (or cut and paste..no one will judge you, cause that is what I did). Then come back and let me know you are going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift.

Remember only the 1st 3 will qualify. Good Luck!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!

Well, BYU Provo has finally sent out their admissions decisions. Just for some background, BYU had said that they would not begin to send out their decisions until February 27th. Then, about a week ago, I received an email notifying me that they would begin to send out their decisions on February 9th. Ever since that email, I have been checking my email daily, waiting for their decision. Finally, on Friday the 13th, I checked and the email was there.

So, I opened the letter and this is what is said:

12 Feb 2009

Katrina Emily Hale
5640 Greenacres Way
Orangevale, CA 95662

Dear Katrina:

The Admissions Committee is delighted to inform you that you have been admitted to Brigham Young University to begin Fall 2009. Through your preparation and personal achievements you have distinguished yourself from a very strong group of applicants. We believe you will make a positive contribution to our BYU community. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to our campus to pursue your educational goals.

In addition, your current academic record qualifies you to receive a multiyear scholarship. We will send you specific details, including the name of your particular scholarship, associated policies, and expectations, prior to your enrollment.

Once you have determined whether or not you will attend BYU, indicate your decision on the "Accept Decision" tab below. If you change your mind, simply come back to this page and select the appropriate response again. You have 30 days from your original acceptance date to make your final decision. Please note that if you select "I will not attend," it will restrict you from registering for classes.

Please click on the links below to find answers to frequently asked questions ranging from scholarships to housing. Please review this information carefully.

Best wishes as you finish this school year. We encourage you to continue to excel in the classroom and to maintain the standards outlined in the University Honor Code. Congratulations on your accomplishments!

Warmest regards,

R. Kirk Strong

Director of Admission Services

I GOT IN!!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know, BYU Provo was my top choice. I am soooooooo excited that I got in. This was the ONE decision I was really holding out for. I am so happy!

Oh, on a funny note, February 12 was my 17 1/2 birthday, so all day I would just kind of joke with my friends about what they had got me. Well, I didn't get any presents from my friends, but I certainly got what I was really waiting for! :-D

By the way, I have yet to hear back from UC Davis on their decision, which I do not expect until sometime in March.

So here is the run-down of my college admissions, with ranking:

#2-California State University, Sacramento--Accepted
#3-Brigham Young University, Idaho--Accepted
#1-Brigham Young University, Provo--Accepted
#4-University of California, Davis--To Be Determined

College Stuff, Again

Wow, I haven't posted in FOREVER!! I am so sorry for you faithful blog readers that check in to see if there are any new updates.

Well, I just thought that you would like to hear about my progress with college applications. Some of you may already know that I have been accepted to California State University in Sacramento. No big shocker there right?

Well, today I learned that Brigham Young University in Rexburg, Idaho has also made a decision about my application. I was shocked to learn that I had been DENIED!! That SUCKS!!

Just kidding, I was accepted! Yay! I am glad that I got in, but I am still anxiously awaiting the decision of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I bet you are all rolling your eyes, thinking that it is already a sure thing, but you never know. What is UBER lame, is I have to wait until sometime in February or March before I will know of the decision. Ugggh.

Well, I guess for know I am just going to have to be patient until those last letters roll in. :-D
